Sophie (Mrs. Elmer) Bleick, 65, of 910 12th North, New Ulm, died Wednesday Des. 27, 1989 at Sioux Valley Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday Jan. 2, 1990 at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and continues from 7:30 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She is survived by husband, Elmer of New Ulm; sons, Timothy and wife, Mitzie Bock stationed in Germany, Thomas Bock of of Wyoming; three grandchildren; sisters, Theresa (Mrs. Armin) Groening of New Ulm, Magdalene Scharbach of New Ulm, Loretta Steffensmeier of Mankato, Annie (Mrs. Raymond) Maidl of Avon and Rose Hoffman of Yankton, S.D.; brother, Martin Sellner of Mankato and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Sylvester and Joseph Sellner and sisters, Martha Morgan and Agnes Sellner.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1924 in Sleepy Eye to Stephen and Mary (Tauer) Sellner. She attended Sleepy Eye schools. She married Elmer Bleick in New Ulm Aug. 9, 1969. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where she worked at New Ulm Laundry for a number of years and seven years in the kitchen at Highland Manor Nursing Home until she retired in 1986. She was a member of the Wabasso Beneficial Society and the Cathedral parish.
