Springfield Medical Center - Mayo Health System (SMC-MHS) is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health for 24 beds and 6 bassinets, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

The medical center is a full service primary care hospital, including surgical and obstetrics services, and is organizationally integrated with a five-physician family practice clinic. Every physician is board certified by their respective accrediting specialty organization, and all five local physicians include obstetrics in their practice of medicine.

A variety of visiting specialists make visits to the medical center on a predetermined schedule, providing quality care close to home.

SMC-MHS also has a satellite clinic in the city of Lamberton, open every weekday with a rotating member of the Springfield medical staff.
