Louise is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sister Louise Bauer of St. Paul, Diane and Tom Portner of New Ulm, Mary Ann and John Mingo of Prior Lake, Jane Hoffman of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Wally "Mouse" Bauer and his special friend Joyce Dauer of New Ulm, Pat and Kathleen Bauer of Bend, Oregon, Roger and Joyce Bauer of New Ulm, Tom and Sandy Bauer of New Ulm; twenty six grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren, a sister, Frieda Holm of New Ulm; a brother and sister-in-law, Sylvester and Theresa Domeier of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law, Adeline Domeier and Irene Domeier, both of New Ulm; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Meyer of New Ulm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George J. Bauer on March 11, 1997; infant twin sons, George and Joseph Bauer; a grandson, Andrew Bauer; sisters, Martha Sellner and Peggy Meyer; and by brothers, Herb, Ben and Meinrad Domeier.

Louise Barbara Domeier was born March 18, 1920, in Milford Township, Brown County, to Andrew and Anna (Bruckbauer) Domeier. She was united in marriage to George J. Bauer on June 10, 1941, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. Louise spent her life as a homemaker. She loved to garden, sew, bake, raise chinchillas and spend time with her grandchildren where she was known as the "silly" grandma. Her faith was important to her and she volunteered at many church activities. She loved to have big family get togethers. Even later in life, with Alzheimer's disease, she enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She was a great example of how to enjoy life and we were blessed to have the "best Mom." She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, Council of Catholic Women and the St. Margaret's Society.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Oak Hills Living Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alzheimer's Association, San Lucas Mission Toliman Mission or to the donor's choice.
