Linus Bauer , 75, of 820 Summit Ave., New Ulm died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Fairfax Community Home.
Private family services will be held Saturday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the city cemetery.
Public visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the Firle Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of New Ulm; sons, Thomas Bauer and wife Kim of New Ulm, John Bauer and wife Lynda of Eagan; daughter, Mary and husband Michael Wokasch of McFarland, Wisc.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; brothers Robert Bauer and wife Margaret of New Ulm, Stanley Bauer and wife Mary of Sleepy Eye, and Larry Bauer and wife Margaret of New Ulm; sisters, Alyce Fortwengler and husband Harold of New Ulm, Martha Saunders of Gaylord, and Donna Schumacher and husband Don of Wanda; sister-in-law, Helen Brust and husband Norman of New Ulm; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty in 1984; granddaughter, Hannah in 1993; and brother, James in 1961.
He was born June 19, 1924,in Albin Township, Brown County, to Engelbert and Anna (Fischer) Bauer. He attended country schools. He married Arlene Annen in Searles on June 6, 1946. They farmed in Cottonwood Township until 1983 and then moved to New Ulm. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's research.
