While preparing to retire for the night, Mrs. William H. Boettger, nee Bertha Hillesheim, was stricken with apoplexy, at her home on North Franklin street, Sunday evening at 8:45 o'clock and passed away a few moments later. Although ailing, for several years, her condition did not become alarming, until about 2½ weeks prior to her demise. Deceased was past 66 years of age, having been born in Sigel township, May 10, 1864. There she grew to young womanhood, and was married to her surviving husband in New Ulm, December 3, 1884. After spending several months in this city, they moved onto a farm in Sigel township, which was the family home for 14 years. Then Mr. and Mrs. Boettger resided in Milford township for 13 years, before retiring from agricultural pursuits and coming to New Ulm, nearly 19 years ago. Deceased was the mother of two children, both of whom survive, namely, Mrs. Felix Reinhart, Cottonwood township, and Albert Boettger, Milford township. There are also seven grandchildren, as well as one sister, Mrs. Anton Baumann, and two brothers, Hubert and Anton Hillesheim, all of this city.
Funeral services were conducted at Holy Trinity Catholic church here, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, after which interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Boettger was a member of St. Elizabeth and Christian Mothers' societies of Holy Trinity parish, both of which organizations attended the last rites in a body.
