Walter Fecker, 80, of Buffalo Lake, died on Tuesday, June 9, 1998 at the Glencoe Area Health Care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Stewart, with burial in St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at St. Boniface Catholic Church with a 7:30 p.m vigil service, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Buffalo Lake; daughters, Marlene Finnell and husband Bob of Stewart and Karol Robertson and husband Alan of Cartersville, GA; sister Bernice Wolterstorff and husband Clifford of Knapp, Wis.; grandchildren, Ryan and Kristi Finnell, and Jonathan and Elizabeth Robertson; brother-in-law Sylvester Hornick of Comfrey; sister-in-law Edna and Albin Johaneck of Mountain Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by infant children, LeRoy, Janet, and Deanna; and sister Catherine Hornick.
He was born April 16, 1918, in Springfield to John and Sophia (Rubey) Fecker. He married Bernice Hayek on Sept. 28, 1944, in Comfrey. He was active in 4-H in his youth, winning many grand champions and state fair trips.
