Bernice Hayek Fecker, 86, of Buffalo Lake, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart with burial in St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church and continues one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A vigil service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Finnell and husband Bob of Stewart, and Karol Robertson and husband Alan of Cartersville, Ga.; grandchildren, Ryan and Kristi Finnell, and Jonathan and Elizabeth Robertson; sister, Edna Johanek and husband Albin of Mountain Lake; brother-in-law, Sylvestor Hornick of Comfrey; sister-in-law, Bernice Wolterstorff of Knapp, Wis., and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant children LeRoy, Janet and Deanna; sister-in-law Catherine Hornick; brother-in-law, Clifford Wolterstorff, and other relatives.
She was born Jan. 10, 1913, to Edward and Frieda (Hamp) Hayek in Milwaukee, Wis. She grew up in Mountain Lake where she attended country school. She married Walter John Fecker on Sept. 28, 1944, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey. They resided on a farm south of Buffalo Lake all their lives.
