Lawrence 'Sam' Hauger, 75, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Sturm Funeral Home. A men's rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Denise Hauger of Springfield, and a daughter and son-in-law, Corrine and Dan Petersen of Springfield; three grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and DeMaris Hauger of Springfield and Carl and Elna Hauger of Minneapolis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Henrietta and Bill Nado of New Ulm, Lorraine and Warren Kelly of Burnsville, Virginia and Wesley Langhoff of Prior Lake and Dorothy Sprank of Burnsville; brother-in-law, Ardelton Schunck of Burnsville; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hauger of Shakopee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; sister, Marie Schunck; and brother-in-law, James Sprank.
He was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Springfield to Charles and Magdalene (Rademacher) Hauger. He attended District 78 school. He served in the U.S. Navy from March 7, 1945, to Aug. 29, 1946. He returned to farm in Northstar Township, southwest of Springfield. He married Kathleen Turbes on Nov. 30, 1956 in Sanborn. He belonged to American Legion Post 257.
