Henry Hillesheim, 83, died Friday, January 25 at Fairfax Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with interment in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
He is survived be two sons, Donald of Sanborn, Alfred of Sleepy Eye; two daughters, Beatrice (Mrs. Leonard Haala) of Comfrey and Donna Mae (Mrs. Donald Schneider) of Owen, Wisc. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Juenemann of St. John's Home in Springfield, Mrs. William Guggisberg of Lafayette and Mrs. Agatha Juenemann of Sanborn. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna April 12, 1978. He was a member of St. John's Society and the Sleepy Eye Labor Society. He was born February 19, 1896 in Stark Township to Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hillesheim. He married Anna Juenemann February 18, 1919 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After their marriage, they farmed in Stark Township until their retirement in 1946 at which time they moved to Sleepy Eye where he made his residence until entering the Fairfax Nursing Home in April 1971.
Henry was a member of the board of directors for Stark Mutual Fire Insurance Company for a number of years and also served on the school board of old District No. 39 for many years. The pallbearers were grandsons, Bruce Haala, Ralph Hillesheim, Dennis Hillesheim, Bennett Hillesheim, Bernard Hillesheim, Donavon Schneider.
