Henry F. Hillesheim, 74, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1986 at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-9 o.m. Thursday at the O'Hare-Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. A combined Catholic Order of Forester, Knights of Columbus and Parish rosary will be 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived be his wife Daphne of Sleepy Eye; sons Bryan of Comfrey, Dennis of Aberdeen S.D., Richard of Kettering, Ohio, Thomas of Jordan, Patrick of Griffin, Ga.; daughter Phyllis (Mrs. Dennis) Neudecker of Redwood Falls; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Hubert of Sleepy Eye, Herman of Gurnee, Ill., Nick of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Kathryn Rubey of Springfield, Mrs. Rose Prokosch of Comfrey, Margaret (Mrs. Francis) Busch of Jordan, and Verna (Mrs. Jerome) Rein of Shakopee. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He was born Dec. 19, 1911 in Stark Township, Brown County to Joseph A. and Margaret (Mertz) Hillesheim. He married Daphne Smith July 5, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. After marriage he farmed eight years in Stark Township and later moved to Home Township where he farmed until retirement in 1972. At that time he moved to Sleepy Eye were he lived until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Catholic Order of Forester and the Knights of Columbus. He was president of the Brown County Oil Co-op for 25 years and worked as Brown County Agricultural Inspector for 19 years. He also taught rural school for three years before his marriage.
