Alfred Joseph Hillesheim, 78 of Sleepy Eye died Friday, March 19, 1999 in Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. parish prayer service, and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday all at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
He is survived by wife Genevieve of Sleepy Eye; sons and daughters-in-law Vernard and Carol of Sanborn, William and Ann, Ralph and Susie, Dennis, all of Sleepy Eye, Charles and Dee of Mankato; daughter and son-in-law Monica and LeRoy Hauth of Springfield; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters and brother-in-law Beatrice Haala of Comfrey, Donna Mae and Donald Schneider of Wisconsin; sister-in-law Rosella Hillesheim of Springfield.
He was born Feb. 22, 1921 in Sleepy Eye to Henry and Anna (Juenemann) Hillesheim. He grew up and attended school near Sleepy Eye. He married Genevieve Huiras Feb. 4, 1947 in Leavenworth. He farmed the family farm until 1997 when he moved to Sleepy Eye. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the Catholic Aid Association.
