AMY PETERSON
Funeral services for Amy Peterson, 91, of Aurelia, will be 11:00 A.M.
Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the First Congregational Church in Aurelia,
with Pastor Bruce Rapp officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View
Cemetery, Meriden. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00
P.M., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral
Home in Aurelia.
Amy died Sunday, February 26,
2006, at the Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia where she had
been a resident since December 29, 2004.
Amy Adelia Mason was born March
16, 1914, the daughter of George and Olive (Nelson) Mason in Meriden,
Iowa. She graduated from the Meriden High School. On February 1, 1942,
Amy married Carl E. Peterson. They lived on the family farm south of
Aurelia. To this union two children were born, Larry Donald and Beth
Carlene. They retired from the farm and moved into Aurelia on March 4th,
1970. Carl passed away September 19th, 1973. She was a
member of the First Congregational Church, Women’s Fellowship, Church
Circle, the Aurelia Federated Women’s Club, Even Dozen card club, and
Aurelia Senior Citizens.
Preceding Amy in death were her
parents, her husband Carl, her son Larry on November 2nd,
1991, two brothers, Donald and Ben Mason, and one sister, Louise Gravatt.
Survivors include her daughter
Beth and her husband Keith Troyer of Eagan, Minnesota, daughter-in-law
Kathleen Peterson of Sioux Center, Iowa, six grandchildren; Kent Troyer,
Amy and her husband Todd Hartman, Katie Troyer, Rhonda Peterson, Craig
and his wife Terra Peterson, and Carla Peterson, four
great-grandchildren; Calie and Tasha Peterson and Alia and Scottland
Hartman, and one brother, Lyle and his wife Lorrene Mason of Cherokee,
and other relatives and friends.
