ARLINE V. STEEMKE
Memorial services for Arline Steemke, 83, of
Aurelia will be Monday, July 16, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at the First United
Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Harold Werley. There will be
no visitation. Inurnment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee,
Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Aurelia Community
Center in memory of Arline. The Redig Funeral Home of Aurelia is in
charges of arrangements.
Arline Virginia Minard was born July 21,
1923 in Alta, Iowa the daughter of Warren E. and Florence (Tincknell)
Minard. She graduated from the Alta High School in 1941. On September
24, 1942 she married Loren Dale Steemke at the Methodist Church in Storm
Lake, Iowa. Arline was a nurse in Iowa and California for 30 years until
her retirement in July of 1980. She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church in Aurelia where she had been active in United
Methodist Women and Circle. Arline was a member of Senior Citizens, and
enjoyed knitting, playing cards, crocheting, and her grandchildren.
Arline died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Mercy
Medical Center in Sioux City following a heart attack.
Preceding Arline in death were
her parents, two sons, Ronald and Larry Steemke, two brothers, Craig and
Lyle Minard, and one sister, Kay Alderson.
Survivors include her husband Loren Steemke
of Aurelia, her son Donald and his wife Lisa Steemke of Aurelia, and
daughter-in-law Susan Steemke of Aurelia and Los Angeles, six
grandchildren, David Steemke of Grand Forks, ND, Kelly Wallace of San
Diego, CA, Shannon Steemke of Gilbert, AZ, Shawn Steemke of Aurelia,
Christina Steemke of Littleton, CO, and step-grandson Kevin Smith of
Valley Springs, CA, and one great-grandson, Sean Loren Steemke of
Aurelia. Also surviving are two brothers, Merrill and his wife Pat
Minard of Hillsboro, OR, and Wayne and his wife Wanda Minard of Sedalia,
CO, one sister, Marge LaClare of Gold Beach, OR, two sisters-in-law,
June Minard of Oklahoma, and Charlene Minard of Alta, IA, one
brother-in-law, James Alderson of Chicago, IL, and many nieces and
nephews and friends.
