BILL FOX
Funeral services for Bill Fox, 75, of Aurelia, will be Thursday,
September 8, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at the First
United
Methodist Church
in Aurelia with Pastor Harold Werley officiating. Burial will be in the
Pleasant Hill
Cemetery
in Aurelia. Visitation
will be Wednesday from 2:00
to 8:00, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00,
at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
William Leroy Fox was born July 19, 1930,
north of Aurelia in Afton Township, the son of Clyde and Geneva (Sexton)
Fox. He graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1948. On February 4,
1950, Bill married Norma Jean Nelson at the Carmel Lutheran Church in
Marcus, IA. He owned and operated Nelson’s Dairy in Aurelia from 1951
to 1968. He then worked for Wells Dairy, and later for Farmer’s
Cooperative in Aurelia. Bill served several terms as a trustee to First
United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sharing his woodworking ability and
completed many projects for the church, community, family and friends.
He was a member of the Aurelia Heritage Society and used his talents in
the restoration of the Heritage House. Loyalty to his family, his
church, and all his friends was prime to his life.
Bill died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at the
Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, IA.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents,
his special uncle, Estel Sexton and three brothers-in-law, Clayton Bugh,
Blair Watson and Ken Nelson.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of
Aurelia, their daughter, LeeAnn and her husband Dean Peterson of Dayton,
NJ, two sons, Jeff and his wife Peg Fox and Deloy Fox all of Steamboat
Springs, CO, four grandchildren, Nichole and her husband Brian Smith,
Abby Fox, Seth and his wife Jennifer Peterson, and Andrew Peterson, and
one great grand child, Derek Peterson. Also surviving are two sisters,
Louise Bugh of Cherokee and Tena Mae and her husband Charles Galvin of
Aurelia, six sisters-in-law, Arlene and her husband Don Stohrer of
Homosasa, Fl, Doris Watson of Sioux City, Doloris and her husband
Orville Tapper of Marcus, Betty and her husband Larry Kolpin of Aurelia,
and Shirley and her husband Jerry Drzycimski of Storm Lake, and Lucille
Nelson of Aurelia, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and
friends.
