BROOKE LYNN ANDERSON
Funeral services for Brooke Anderson, 28,
of Rockwell City, formerly of Aurelia, Storm Lake and Lake City, will be
10:30 Saturday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, with Pastor
Larry Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery,
Aurelia. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8, with the family being
present from 6 to 8 at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Brooke Lynn Anderson was born on February
26, 1980 in Cherokee, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Carla (Backhaus)
Anderson. Brooke became a resident at Faith Hope & Charity in Storm
Lake at a young age. She also lived at Opportunity Life in Lake City as
well as Opportunity Life in Rockwell City, Iowa where on Tuesday,
September 16, 2008 she was struck by a bus. Brooke died at the Mercy
Hospital in Des Moines later that evening. Brooke enjoyed music,
swimming, fast rides, sitting in her bean bag chair, roller skating,
horse back riding, boating and especially the sensory room.
Preceding Brooke in death was her
grandfather, Carl Backhaus Jr.
Survivors include; her parents: Bruce &
Carla Peterson of Alta, one brother, Leigh and his wife Angie Peterson,
two sisters, Katina and her husband Jonny Johnson, and Destiny Peterson
all of Aurelia, grandparents, Marilyn Stiles of Cherokee, Marjorie & Ron
Neulieb of Alta, Ken & Jan Peterson of Aurelia, and Janet Backhaus of
Aurelia. Three nieces: Mazy & Savannah Johnson, Emma Peterson and one
nephew, Tyler Peterson, many aunts, uncles other relatives and friends.
