Funeral services for Carrie Lynn Serviss
Schueller, 32, of Aurelia, formerly of Cherokee, will be 10:00 A.M.
Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in
Cherokee, with Pastor Magrey DeVega officiating. Burial will be in the
Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa, at 1:30 P.M. Visitation will
be Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M., with the family present from
6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia. In lieu of flowers a
memorial fund has been established.
Carrie died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the
Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa, after a courageous
battle with breast cancer for eight years.
Carrie Lynn Serviss was born March 27, 1977,
the daughter of James Doyle and Peggy Joyce (Bradshaw) Serviss in
Cherokee. She graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1995, and
attended Morningside College in Sioux City for one year, and Buena Vista
University in Storm Lake for two years. She enjoyed supporting Relay For
Life, and made and sold bracelets to support breast cancer awareness.
Carrie loved being a good mom and taking care of her kids.
Preceding Carrie in death were her mother
Peggy in 1992, her brother Donald in 1975, paternal grandparents Emry
and Gladys Serviss, maternal grandparents Orville and Lucille Bradshaw
and Boyd Spaulding, great-grandparents Rile and Mary Bradshaw, and
aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors include her children, Tyler and
Abby Lamm at home, her father, Jim Serviss of Aurelia, one sister, Diane
and her husband Steve Anderson and their children Kayla and Zac of
Cherokee, maternal grandmother Alberta Spaulding of Sioux City, aunts,
uncles, cousins, and many friends.
