Funeral services for Catherine Lucile
Wilson, 96, of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 13, 2007,
at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Harold
Werley officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery,
Aurelia. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., with
the family present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in
Aurelia.
Catherine died Saturday, November 10, 2007
at the Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia, where she had been
a resident since April 7, 1999.
Catherine Lucile Robinson was born April 6,
1911 in Washington, Indiana, the daughter of Elijah H. and Anna D.
(Roll) Robinson. She attended school in Washington, IN, Beebee, AR, and
from 5th grade on in Glendale, IN, graduating with the class
of 1929. On August 14, 1929 Catherine married Curtis R. Scales at
Alfordsville, IN. They had three sons, Darrel, Royce, and Donald.
On December 26, 1952, Catherine married
Harry R. Wilson of Aurelia, IA. After moving to Aurelia she worked at
several odd jobs, and then worked at Mental Health in Cherokee until she
retired in 1973.
Catherine was a member of the First United
Methodist Church, Pythian Sisters, Embroidery Club, Senior Citizen’s,
and a past member of the Federated Woman’s Club.
Preceding Catherine in death were her
parents, her husband Harry on July 23, 1991, stepdaughter Lottie M.
Sweet, step-grandson Sam Sweet, three brothers, Maurice, Walter “Wayman”,
and Ellis Robinson, and two daughters-in-law, Camilla Scales and Carla
Scales.
Survivors include three sons, Darrel Scales
of Indianapolis, IN, Royce and his wife Mickey Scales of Stanger, CA,
and Don Scales of Hot Springs, AR, grandchildren, step-granddaughters,
great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and
friends.
