Funeral services for Colleen Perry, 73, of
Aurelia, IA, will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 26, 2004, at the First
United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Jack Weida
officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 P.M., with the family
being present from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig
Funeral Home in Aurelia. A memorial fund has been established.
Colleen died Friday, July 23, 2004 at her
home in Aurelia.
Ila Colleen Andersen was born January 16,
1931, the daughter of Quentin and Martha (Kolpin) Andersen, in
Cherokee, Iowa. She attended Afton Township School through the 7th
grade, and graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1948. She then
attended Commercial Extension in Omaha for one year. Colleen married
Wilson Duane Perry on September 10, 1950, at the Methodist Church in
Aurelia. She worked as a secretary for the Hansen Grain Elevator in
Storm Lake until their son Steven was born. Colleen was an active
member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, Friendship
Club, Pal Club, several Bridge clubs, Pinochle Club, church circle,
and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing cards, baking,
flowers and gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and
friends. She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother,
and grandmother.
Preceding Colleen in death were her
parents, and two daughters, Vicky Jo and Linda Sue.
Survivors include her husband Duane of
Aurelia, four children, Steven and his wife Donna Perry of Vancouver,
WA, Blaine and his wife Darlene Perry of Aurelia, IA, Stacey and his
wife Denise Perry of Leawood, KS, and one daughter, Deb and her
husband Daniel Stolze of Urbandale, IA. Also surviving are thirteen
grandchildren, Michelle Williams, Jessica, Stephanie, Christopher, and
Zachary Perry, Adam, Brooke, and Andrew Perry, Marcus, Jonathan, and
Michael Perry, and Kyle and Nathan Stolze, four great-grandchildren,
Kassie, Tommy, Katie, and McKenzie Williams, aunts, uncles, and other
relatives and friends.
