DORIS LAURSEN
Funeral services for Doris E. Laursen, 73,
of Cherokee, formerly of Spencer and Rush City, MN, will be Thursday,
March 18, 2010, at 2:00 P.M., at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia with
Pastor Missy Brown officiating. There will be no visitation. The Redig
Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Doris died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at
Country Side Estates in Cherokee, Iowa, were she had been a resident
since February 2, 2010.
Doris Elaine Laursen was born February 11,
1937, the daughter of Nis and Signe (Miller) Laursen in Cherokee, Iowa.
She attended school in Cherokee, graduating in 1955. She worked as a
secretary for a number of businesses, including Bargloff & Company in
Storm Lake. Doris volunteered at the churches in the various places she
lived. She enjoyed her cats and crocheting.
Preceding
Doris in death were her parents, three brothers, Ervin, Darrel, and
Verle Laursen, two sisters, Betty Deirs and Margaret Laursen, and two
brothers-in-law, Charles Neustrom, and Robert Foran.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary
Neustrom of Eureka, CA, Verna Sethman of Custer, SD, and Sharon Foran of
Cedar Rapids, IA, two brothers, Nis Jr. and Jo Laursen of Meriden and
Norman and Dorothy Laursen of Sutherland, one brother-in-law, Ted Deirs
of Rush City, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
