GENE E. GUSTAFSON

Funeral services for Gene E. Gustafson, 28, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Alta, will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 30, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake with Pastor Tom Hinshaw officiating.  Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.  In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Gene died Friday, June 24, 2005, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Gene Everett Gustafson was born February 2, 1977, in Storm Lake, the son of Marlin and Karen (Stacy) Gustafson.  He graduated from the Alta High School in 1995.  On July 3, 1998, Gene married Suzanne Stevenson in Newell, Iowa.  Gene worked as the purchasing manager for Cleaners Closet in Virginia Beach.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church.  He loved music, fishing, and doing home handyman projects.

Preceding Gene in death were his father, Marlin Gustafson on April 29, 1987, his grandparents, one uncle, Russell Ellrich, and two aunts, Marilyn McDonough and Naomi Domina.

Survivors include his wife, Suzi Gustafson and their daughters Elizabeth and Victoria of Virginia Beach, his mother, Karen and her husband Frank Peterson of Alta, one sister, Tarla and her husband Tom Lane and their children Adella, TJ, and Stacey of Alta, three step-brothers, Michael and his wife Sherry Peterson and their daughter Karla of Newell, Jeff and his wife Jeanette Peterson of Sioux City, and Jim and his wife Jennifer Peterson and their children Christian and Melinda of Alta, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sherri Stevenson-Arnold and Mark Arnold of Aurelia, six aunts and uncles, Jan and her husband Dean Harmon of East Moline, IL, Larry and his wife Phyllis Stacy of Washington, MO, Ron and his wife Lee Stacy of Salina, KS, Ronald Gustafson of Alta, Judy Gustafson of Alta, and Janice Hoffard of Sac City, numerous cousins, and other relatives and friends.
