Funeral services for Gladys
Tuttle, 85, of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2007,
at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Larry Lemke
officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural
Aurelia. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 to 8:00, with the family
being present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Gladys died Tuesday, November
13, 2007, at the Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia where she
had resided since June 20, 2002.
Gladys Doretta Tuttle was born
January 28, 1922, the daughter of Ernest Charles and Augusta Doris
Johanna (Hasenwinkel) Tuttle north of Aurelia. She attended country
school. Gladys was a homemaker, and the family care giver. Gladys was
active in her church Bible study groups, youth groups, and served as a
Sunday school teacher and confirmation class teacher for many years. She
was also a Walther League Camp counselor for many years. She was a
member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, and the Walther
League. Gladys enjoyed doing painting and drawing.
Preceding Gladys in death were
her parents; one sister, Verla Tuttle; two brothers-in-law, Dale Van
Hemert and Eldon Dilocker; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Tuttle and
LaVonne Tuttle; one niece, Kathy Tuttle; and one great-niece, Melissa
Stephenson.
Survivors include her nine
sisters and brothers; Mildred and her husband Lowell Troester of
Brighton, CO, Arleen Van Hemert of Des Moines, Deloris and her husband
William Rogers of Des Moines, Lola Dilocker of Dakota Dunes, SD, Ernie
and his wife Florence Tuttle of Aurelia, Marvin and his wife Pat Tuttle
of Des Moines, Ervin “John” and his wife Elizabeth Tuttle of Cherokee,
Ron and his wife Sandra Tuttle of Cherokee, and Gerald “Jerry” and his
wife Becky Tuttle of Washta; and many nieces and nephews, and other
relatives and friends.
