GLENN A. DYSLIN
Funeral
services for Glenn Dyslin, 78, of Aurelia, will be Saturday, October 25,
2008 at 10:30 A.M., at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia,
with Rev. Missy Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill
Cemetery, rural Aurelia, with Military Honors by the
Grashoff-McManus American Legion Post #390 of Aurelia.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the church. The
Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Glenn
Allen Dyslin was born November 28, 1929, at Aurelia, IA, son of
Glen Lewis and Olga (Pearson) Dyslin. He attended grade school in Afton
Township and the Aurelia High School and. He farmed north of Aurelia.
Glen served in the US Air Force from January 1951 to January of 1955,
serving as a member of the Air Police Honor Guard for Dwight D.
Eisenhower at his summer home in Colorado. He then returned to farming.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia. Glen
loved fishing and hunting and riding his golf cart around the farm and
growing tomatoes and sweet corn. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Glenn died Thursday, October 23, 2008, at
the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.
Preceding Glenn in death were his parents.
Survivors include two brothers, Dale and his
wife Bobbye Dyslin and Royce and his wife Ida Dyslin all of Knoxville,
TN, and two sisters, Janice and her husband Jack Wickersheim of Sac
City, IA, and Judy and her husband Ronald Peterson of Bradenton, FL.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews; David and Katie Dyslin, John and
Mae Charles Dyslin, Dirk and Kimberly Rountree, Kelly Dyslin, Alan and
Sarah Nicoli, Michael Wickersheim, Vicki and Nathan Hasty, and Kirk and
Vikie Wickersheim, several great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives
and friends.
