JAMES (Jim) BRINKMAN
Funeral services for James (Jim) Brinkman,
58, of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 21, 2006, at the
First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Harold Werley
officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia.
Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family
present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia. A
memorial fund has been established.
Jim died Tuesday, January 17,
2006, at the Sioux Valley Regional Medical Center in Cherokee.
James Edward Brinkman was born
April 7, 1947, the son of Richard and Evelyn Mae (Brummer) Brinkman in
Sheldon, Iowa. Jim attended school in Aurelia and graduated from the
Aurelia High School in 1965. On June 7, 1975, Jim married Mary Lilane
Kohler at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia. He farmed the
home farm as long as his health allowed.
Jim enjoyed working dogs, planting trees,
fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, antiques, listening to the radio, visiting
with family and friends on the phone, and going out to eat. He was a
member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia.
Preceding Jim in death were his
parents, and his father-in-law Herb Kohler.
Survivors include his wife Mary
of Aurelia, his sister, Jane and her husband Greg Ebert of
Williamsville, NY, his half-brother, Richard and his wife Mary Brinkman
of Dakota Dunes, mother-in-law Eileen Kohler of Ames, brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law; Henry and Anne Kohler of Ames, Susan Kohler of Ames,
Keith and Peggy Kohler of Ames, Curt Kohler of Le Mars, and Eric and Kim
Kohler of Wamego, KS, and several nieces and nephews.
