JULIA
(Judy) BECK
Graveside services for Julia (Judy) Beck,
87, of Marion, Indiana, formerly of Storm Lake, will be 10:00 A.M.
Monday, May 23, 2005, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake,
with Father Bruce Lawler officiating. There will be no visitation. The
Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Judy died Sunday, May 15, 2005,
at the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Julia Claire (Judy) FitzPatrick
was born September 1, 1917, the daughter of Miles and Mathilda
FitzPatrick in Illinois. Judy graduated from the Storm Lake High
School. On May 4, 1940, Judy married Homer W. Beck in Storm Lake. In
1939 Homer began the Storm Lake Reminder and Stationery Store, which
they owned and operated for 27 years. In 1962 they sold the business to
Ralph and Dorothy Davis. Judy worked as a bartender for the Moose Lodge
in Storm Lake. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Storm Lake. She enjoyed reading and going on cruises.
Preceding Judy in death were her
parents, and her husband Homer on March 8, 1991.
Survivors include her daughter,
Linda and her husband Michael Kitchen of Marion, IN, eight
grandchildren, Curtis and his wife Trich Firebaugh of Reno, NV, Craig
and his wife Julie Firebaugh of Phoenix, AZ, Larry and his wife Zebbie
Firebaugh of Sacramento, CA, Lonie Firebaugh of Tampa, FL, Mary Ann
Firebaugh of Reno, NV, Michael Firebaugh of Reno, NV, Sheldon Firebaugh
of Gas City, IN, and Cory and his wife Misty Firebaugh of Reno, NV, and
twelve great-grandchildren.
