LOIS SWEARENGIN
Funeral services for Lois Swearengin, 84, of
Amarillo, Texas, will be 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at the First
United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Harold Werley
officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia.
Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., with the
family present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Lois LaVonne Pixler was born on May 13, 1922
in Marcus, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Emma Edith (Godwin) Pixler.
Lois attended school in Aurelia, graduating in 1941. She worked for the
Aurelia School for 20 years, retiring in May of 1986. On September 13,
1986 Lois married William R. Swearengin in Johnstown, CO. She was a
member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, and enjoyed
fishing, sewing, and cooking.
Lois died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at the
Ware Memorial Care Center in Amarillo, TX.
Preceding Lois in death were her parents,
and two husbands, Floyd Peterson and Verner Matsen.
Survivors include her husband Bob (W.R.)
Swearengin of Amarillo, TX, two sons, Gary and his wife Jane Peterson of
Mahtowa, MN, and Matt and his wife Alison Matsen, and two grandchildren;
Jocelyn and Emily Matsen all of Riverton, IL, two step-children; Paul
and his wife Susan Swearengin of Oakham, MA, and Phyllis and her husband
Joe Switzer of Amarillo, TX, four step-grandchildren; Lisa and her
husband Hughes Sawyer, Amy and her husband Ernie Collie, and Brian and
Kevin Swearengin, one brother, Max and his wife Ruby Pixler of Loveland,
CO, one sister, Joyce and her husband Fred Dady of Kaysville, UT, nieces
and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
