Funeral services for Lorine
Radke, 96, of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 3, 2006, at
the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Larry Lemke
officiating. Burial will be in the Diamond Township Cemetery, rural
Aurelia. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00, with the family
being present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Lorine died Monday, October 30,
2006, at the Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia where she had
resided for the last ten years.
Lorine Eugenia Johnson was born
June 30, 1910, the daughter of Peter and Ella Mary (Sansen) Johnson in
Cherokee. She graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1927. On
February 10, 1932 she married Walter Theodore Radke in her parents home
in Aurelia. Lorine was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church
in Aurelia and also a longtime member of the Ladies Aid. She was a
member of the Diamond Doers and Federated Women’s Club. Lorine enjoyed
playing Bridge and five hundred, cooking, gardening, crafts, and
especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Preceding Lorine in death were
her parents, her husband Walter on June 24, 1973, three sisters, Mabel
Johnson, Pearl Davis, and Alice Larson, four brothers, Clarence, Robert,
Arthur, and her twin brother Loren Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter
Janadene and her husband Brian Harvey of Iowa City, one son, Douglas and
his wife Barb Radke of Aurelia, four grandchildren, Jamin and her
husband Adam Manatt, Jessica Radke, Ryan Radke and Jana Radke, many
nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
