PATRICIA ESTES
Funeral services for Patricia (Pat) Estes,
81, of Sioux Center, Iowa, will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 18, 2005,
at the First Congregational Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Bruce Rapp
and Pastor Randy Widbin officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant
Hill Cemetery, Aurelia. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 P.M. to
8:00 P.M., with the family present from 3:00 to 5:00, at the Redig
Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Pat died Thursday, December 15,
2005, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital and Health Center in Sioux
Center.
Patricia Anna Hirleman was born
January 7, 1924, the daughter of Clark and Aileen (Doyle) Hirleman in
Spencer, Iowa. Pat attended school in Storm Lake and graduated from the
Storm Lake High School in 1942. On March 21, 1944, Pat married Thomas
Jefferson (T. J.) Estes in Chicago, IL. The couple lived in South
Carolina before moving to Storm Lake. T. J. and Pat’s father bought the
grocery store in Aurelia, which became the E & H Market. Pat worked in
the market until T.J. retired in 1977. She then worked at Jan’s Fashion
Shop in Alta and Colleen’s Clothes Closet in Aurelia. She enjoyed
spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Preceding Pat in death were her
parents, and her husband T. J. on December 16, 2002, her son Steven, and
her brother, Dr. Ray Hirleman.
Survivors include five
children; Ann Short of Des Moines, Bill and his wife Pat Estes of Sioux
Center, Patty and her husband Dan Menke of Calumet, IA, Tom and his wife
Doris Estes of Sioux Center, and Mike and his wife Deb Estes of Traer,
IA, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one
sister-in-law, Marj Hirleman of Cedar Rapids, IA.
