ROBERT KLOCKOW
Funeral services for Robert Klockow, 79, of
Aurelia, will be 10:30 Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Aurelia with Pastor Larry Lemke officiating. Burial
will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia. Visitation will be
Monday from 2:00 until 8:00, with the family being present from 6:00 to
8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Robert Gene Klockow was born on October 26,
1928, on the family farm at rural Aurelia, Iowa, the son of Arnold Emil
and Frieda Anna (Hansen) Klockow. Robert graduated from the Brooke
Consolidated School in 1946. After graduation he attended brick laying
school in Storm Lake. He worked as a bricklayer in Storm Lake, Fairmont,
MN, and for Bob Hatch in Cherokee. He returned to farming the family
farm with his father until his retirement at age 70. He had been a
resident of the Cherokee Villa, in Cherokee, IA, for the last two
months.
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran
Church in Aurelia. Robert loved going to auctions and was a collector of
many things, and also enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening, and
computers.
Robert died Friday, September 26, 2008, at
the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents,
his sister Margaret Koch, and his brother-in-law, Robert Koch.
Survivors include his sister, Marilyn
Klockow of Aurelia, one niece, Beverly and her husband Dale Wordekemper,
and three nephews and their wives, Randy and Sharon Koch, Ken and Cathie
Koch, and Dave and Jill Koch. Also surviving are great nieces and
nephews; Kari, Doug, Lindsey, and Eric Wordekemper, Jeremiah Koch, Amy,
Josh, and Jake Koch, and Adam and Allison Koch, great-great nephews
Bennett and Carson, and great-great niece Addy, and other relatives and
friends.
