STANLEY O. PETERSON
Funeral services for Stanley O. Peterson,
69, of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the First
United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Missy Brown officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia. Visitation
will be Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family being
present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the church. The Redig Funeral Home in
Aurelia is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund
has been established.
Stanley Oscar Peterson was born September
18, 1939, the son of Oscar and Mabel (Peterson) Peterson in Cherokee,
Iowa. Stan was raised in Alta, and graduated from the Fairview High
School. On June 19, 1960, Stan married Pat Galvin at the Trinity
Lutheran Church in Alta. Stan farmed, worked at Walnut Grove, and worked
for Wilson/Tyson Foods for 41 years. He was a member of the First United
Methodist Church in Aurelia, and was a Pythian. He especially enjoyed
spending time with his grandchildren.
Stan died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the
Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee.
Preceding Stan in death were his parents,
one sister, Arlene Gosch.
Survivors include his wife Pat of Aurelia,
four sons, Barry and his wife Birgit Peterson and their children Annika
and Malin of Bloomington, MN, Bryan and his wife Betty Peterson and
their children Lindsay, Mikayla, Jordan, Trista, and Kaden of Seneca,
KS, Brent and his wife Sandi Peterson of Sioux Rapids, IA, and Bradley
Peterson of Sergeant Bluff, IA. Also surviving are one sister, Betty
Peterson of Tampa, FL, two brothers, Bernard and his wife Carol Peterson
of Aurelia, and Marvin and his wife Beverly Peterson of Alta, one
brother-in-law, Wayne Gosch of Ida Grove, IA, uncle and aunt, Delbert
and Alice Peterson of Storm Lake, and nieces and nephews and other
relatives and friends.
