TED WHITE
Funeral services for
Theodor “Ted” White, 72, of Cherokee, will be 1:30 P.M. Thursday,
January 8, 2009, at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cherokee,
with Pastor Magrey de Vega officiating. The Cherokee VFW will present
military honors. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the
family being present, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Theodor Jefferson
White, Jr., was born June 10, 1936 at Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Theodor
and Joyce Maxine (Fogleman) White, Sr. He attended the Grand Meadow
School, graduating in 1954. On December 25, 1955, Ted married Karol
Elaine Grashoff at the Methodist Church in Aurelia. Ted served in the
Air Force. Ted worked as an electrician at Wilson’s in Cherokee for 25
years, and as a computer programmer at the Pioneer Plant at Aurelia. He
enjoyed motorcycles, gardening, bicycling, and watching MASH.
Ted died Tuesday,
January 6, 2009, at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee,
Iowa.
Preceding Ted in
death were his parents and one sister, Candace Arnburg.
Survivors include his
wife Karol of Cherokee, four children, Teresa (Teri) and her husband
Brian Chaffin of Cherokee, Laurel (Laurie) and her husband Randy Davis
of Cherokee, Charles (Chuck) and his wife Liz White of Aurelia, and Boyd
and his wife Lisa White of Cherokee, ten grandchildren, Nicole and her
husband Tim Morgan, Justin Davis, Shannon Chaffin, Michael White, Ryan
White, Steven White, Jason Davis, Tyler White, Andrew Chaffin, and
Jennifer Davis, and two great-grandchildren, Faith and Carter Morgan.
Also surviving are two sisters, Karen and her husband Bill Kimber of
Adel, IA, and Janis White of Des Moines, nieces and nephews, and other
relatives and friends.
