WILLIAM “Bill” GLAWE
Funeral services for William “Bill” Glawe,
77, of Sioux City and Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 31,
2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Alva
Hohl of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Sioux City
officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family
present from 6:00 to 8:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Bill died Friday, January 26, 2007, at the
Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City, where he had been a
resident since August 6, 2004.
William Charles Glawe was born February 7,
1929, on the family farm south of Aurelia, the son of Richard Carl and
Gladys (Parker) Glawe. Bill graduated from the Aurelia High School in
1946, and attended Iowa State University for two years. On December 25,
1950 Bill married Bernadine Godfrey in Adel, IA. Bill farmed his entire
working life. He was a member of the Congregational United Church of
Christ in Sioux City, and enjoyed fishing, sports, and gardening.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife Bernadine Glawe
of Aurelia, three daughters, Pat and her husband Roger Honsbruch of
Sioux City, IA, Sharon Glawe of Cherokee, and Donna Glawe of Cherokee.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Heather and husband Louie Centeno
of Sioux City, Greg and wife Megann Honsbruch of Lafayette, IN, Brent
Honsbruch of Parachute, CO, and Kelsey Honsbruch of Sioux City, four
great-grandchildren, Dylan and Devin Centeno, and Carter and Keira
Honsbruch, and other relatives and friends.
